Patience is a virtue . . .

He’d learned a lot in his forty-some odd years on this earth but whatever lessons he'd learned they obviously weren't enough, because here he sat alone in his SoHo apartment on a Sunday afternoon.  The kids were with their mother, the television was broken and he was bored out of his mind.

He needed an adrenaline rush.  Something new and exciting to take his mind off of what had become a mundane existence.

Bungee jumping was so five years ago, and stupid for a man of his age to be doing anyway.  That was out.

Walking Central Park after dark would get his blood pumping...

A grimace marred his supposedly handsome features.  It also may get his blood pumping all over the pavement if he ran into the wrong guy.  That was out.

Jon melted into the leather sofa with a sigh.

Maybe what he really needed to do was learn patience.
